"Clean" Detox

To keep myself accountable I am journaling my workouts (in my notebook) and my diet (on this blog) for the next 30 days. I might just continue journaling my workouts (that I get from Zuzana and Freddy); it's easier to find a workout for the day if I already have my favorite ones written down.

Anyway, I just started seeing a Naturopathic doctor, who is working with me on getting my health back. First things first: A detox. I am going on a 30 day detox to rid my body of all the toxins I've allowed in.

Day 1: Success! I feel good; I'm not hungry; I'm well hydrated; it's simple and stress free. The only thing I would've done differently is eating something a little more substantial before working out.
Delicious smoothie-
kale, blueberries, brown rice milk, scoop of green supplement, roasted almond butter, Naked green juice, flaxseed, ice
 Mid-morning snack:
walnuts, green tea, green supplement
Salmon salad
Before and after workout:
apple & walnuts
1 fig, handful pumpkin seeds, handful cherries, piece of almond date
(this turned out really good! using leftovers for tomorrow's b-fast and snack)
1 cup brown rice milk
2 1/2 frozen blueberries
3 pitted dates covered in almonds
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon flax meal powder

Before dinner I felt full and a little bloated...too much snacking? Too much to eat? Now I feel like I've eaten too much. Hm...

Mantra of the month: I will be healthy and happy!! And I hope for the same for anyone who is reading :)

  1. Glad to see you're posting again! Seeing a naturopathic doctor is wonderful and I'm sure you'll see wonderful results from it. (It's what I always wanted to do, so I believe in it whole heartedly).

Seeing what your diet consists of, I can't help but wonder how on earth you keep up the energy to exercise like you do. It just doesn't seem like very much 'substantial' food. I may try out some of it though, I'd like to see the difference it would make in me.

  2. Wow; I did not realize you had all this going on. Where are you on here singing?? I like the song you did "Big black horse, cherry tree" - I'd like to see that video here hun. So proud of you; keep it up my lady. Love you bunches, Mom.
