"I will laud mine enemies and they will become friends; I will encourage my friends and they will become brothers."

I suppose this line from "The Greatest Salesman in the World" is similar to a quote we're probably all too familiar with: "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." To me there's a slight difference. When I hear the latter, it makes me think of spite and distrust. It does not make me think of actual closeness with the "enemy"; rather it seems to imply "keeping a closer eye" on the "enemy". The former quote, the one from my daily&motivational reading, is geared towards praising your enemies until they are no longer your enemy, and lifting your friends even higher than you ever have, until they are your brother.

I think the ultimate goal is to befriend every person you come into contact with. 

Show them love
Praise them with kind words
Make them feel their best.


Here's my pre-workout snack:


  • Ezekial whole grain sprouted raisin cinnamon bread
  • Justin's hazelnut chocolate spread
  • 1/2 banana
  • Ground flax seed
  • Cup pomegranate raspberry green tea
  • 2 glasses of water






Now I'm debating what workout I should do. Yesterday's workout was reverse lunges&squats with some push-ups, so my legs are really sore today. A lot of Zuzana's workouts from http://bodyrock.tv incorporat leg exercises. I don't know what to do! :) I might just run intervals on the treadmill and work on abs. That way I can give my thighs a little rest before I go to yoga tomorrow since a lot of the poses use leg and core strength.

Alright, I'm off to do my workout then stretch/meditation.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, and try to befriend every person you come into contact with, as well as make your enemies your friends :) It's certainly a challenge at first, but you'll feel so much lighter with out the build up of tension and hate on your shoulders.

Goal of the day: be happy, be kind, smile at everyone, commit at least one random act of kindness, eat moderately and healthy, and make mucho dinero :)

Refreshed and Rejuvenated

I started today off a little later than usual-noon to be exact-because I was in dire need of sleep! :) Lately, I seem to have really busy weekends filled without sleep... a good thing? Possibly. It must mean I'm getting something done. 

I began my afternoon with some light reading from Og Mandino's "The Greatest Salesman in the World". The quote I mentioned in the video that stood out most to me has a lot to do with how often I come up against obstacles, challenges, forks in the road. Whatever you wanna call it, it's that bump in the road of your life that you might wish was nonexistent. 

However, life wouldn't be as interesting without obstacles. They are like spices to rev things up a bit :) Let's say you overcome your obstacles, you could then be surprised with something very rewarding. 

Doesn't that sound worth it? 

Maybe not, but obstacles aren't going to disappear, so we might as well improve our reaction to them. Think of the rewards you receive as your dues from overcoming the many fun and exciting obstacles you face. 

After my daily, motivational reading, I got straight into my workout from bodyrock.tv. Since I don't have a sandbag like Zuzana uses in her video, I ended up doing 20 rounds of the 3 exercises, instead of 10 rounds. 

OMG, was it freakin' tough. 
My legs turned into jello and I was sweating waterfalls. 
This is normal though. 
I attack Z's workouts with maximum effort so I can get maximum results. 
No pain, no gain, right? 
Haha. 

I rewarded myself with a nice cool down and some meditative stretching. Oh and of course, a lovely post workout meal... chocolate Shakeology! YUM,YUM,YUM. 

Dinner was even better. I got the recipe idea from the Toneitup.com chicas. It looks a little like this:


Quinoa and spinach salad with pistachios, unsweetened dried cranberries, olive oil, lemon, and a pinch of sea salt. I drank some yummy chamomile tea along with it, which relaxes me before I go to sleep, even though I'm not going to sleep yet :)

I was so hungry while I was cooking the Quinoa that I cut up an asian pear to snack on. Asian pears are freakin' awesome!



Earlier, I went to a Beachbody training meeting in Grapevine (if you're interested in getting paid to be fit, let me know!). It was informative and full of laughter, because there were some nutty individuals present :) It was really fun, and that's what you'll find out about working with this company; everyone is so happy and caring and fun! Oh and not to mention fit and healthy.

On my way home I stopped by Central Market to get a few things, mainly for that yummy Quinoa salad, and the sun was falling below the horizon, setting a canopy of warm colors in the sky. My camera phone sucks, but I tried to capture it. At the same time, my favorite song from Incubus came on and the moment was just so blissful. I let it fill my mind with peace, which has carried on through the rest of my evening and will hopefully continue on into my dreams. 

Last night's dreams were torturous, so I'm hoping for a more restful sleep tonight.

Anyway, I think I've rambled on long enough about my day. I need to get more organized with my posts. Soon, I promise. For now, I'll just journal my thoughts and what's going on in my life.

Not Feeling Today

I was having an aggressive and anxious afternoon that started with a 45 minute drive home.
I had a pedal to the floor mindset that I just couldn't shake.
All of the other drivers were driving me crazy.
To me the whole concept of driving and traffic jams is a test of our patience for others.
You're aggravated at how everyone else is driving around you, but shouldn't you just embrace they're differences? Maybe they aren't the type to rush to their destinations, like me :) Maybe they like to take things slow and live in the moment, like I know I should.

Why must I have so much trouble doing so? I meditate occasionally and I practice yoga. I'm usually really good at being mindful of my thoughts and my actions, but lately I haven't been on top of my game.

I think it might have a lot to do with everything I've taken on recently, which I'm starting to think is a much heavier load than I can probably handle.

Anyway, this is the type of life situation you stare right in the face and say, "Bring it. I got this. I can handle anything!"

So, what I am going to do is drink me some yummy, chocolate-y goodness known as Shakeology, take 10 deep breaths, then engage in some intense exercise. That should definitely clear my mind of some clutter.

"I will love the sun for it warms my bones; yet I will love the rain for it cleanses my spirit."

Do I want to feel the heat today, or a cool mist from the sky?

Sometimes the sun can a be a bit abrasive with it's brightness, and I know it can really heat us up here in Tejas. Oh and what about rain? I am definitely guilty of singing "Rain, rain, go away. Come again some other day!" But both the sun and rain are very glorious elements in our lives. The sun is bright and warm! And rain can be so refreshing. At times we take advantage of the beauty nature has to offer, when we should embrace it.

Gotta be open to all things in our environment, otherwise we might be too full of hate and angst to see how great life is!

A little light reading from Og Mandino's "The Greatest Salesman in the world" is always inspiring and motivating me to be more open-minded and free.

I have voice lessons with my girl Reema today, yoga with Joseph Stingley, then on to my good friend Yosh's "studio" to write and hopefully record some music.

"I will make love my greatest weapon."

It all starts with LOVE.
Nothing can possibly be accomplished in life without showin' some love. 
Love for your neighbor, for you sister, for your grocery clerk. 
Love for everyone and all things. 
Love softens the heart and clears the mind. 


I've been reading Og Mandino's 'The Greatest Salesman in the World'; every day for 30 days you must read 1 scroll, and you must read that same scroll three times a day. Then you must repeat the next scroll the next month going through the same process. I am currently on the second scroll which touches on the subject of  LOVE, hence the many occurences of the word :)


I will begin each post I write with a short line from the scroll I will be reading from as a little motivation for the day.


Anyway, I am new to blogging and this is my first post, but I hope to inspire anyone who reads this blog, to be who they are destined to be, living a full and prosperous life. 


Today I want to be happy, enerigized, and healthy. I like to start my day off by reading something motivational while drinking some hot green tea. Then, I like to get exercise done first thing. I tend to blow it off if I wait too long! So, motivational reading, green tea, and exercise are key ingredients for a successful day. How do you start your day off right? I'd love to hear all about it!
