Detox Sunday

This morning was quite lovely.

It started pretty early (around 7 a.m.),

with a yummy green juice from The Big Squeeze.

enjoyed my juice :)

my girl Brandi (aren't her pants saweet?)
she's also a phenomenal yoga instructor.

super foggy, but still beautiful.

That concludes our yoga on the beach.
BTW, if you've never done yoga on the beach, it's worth a try. It's definitely interesting and a bit challenging, but really fun!

This Sunday was a day of detoxing and rest. I really enjoy having one day a week where I don't exercise and I don't clean. Instead, I fill my day with restorative activities and cleansing/nourishing meals. This morning was the epitome of restoring and nourishing: Green juice and yoga on the beach (my favorite place to be).

My lunch today:
  • 1 hard-boiled egg
  • a spoonful of Grey Poupon Dijon mustard (YUM!)
  • a handful of chopped, roasted and salted almonds
  • a handful of diced chicken
  • 1/2 of an avocado
1. Put all ingredients, except avocado, in a small bowl.
2. Mix well.
3. Put contents on a small plate.
4. Serve with avocado as a side.
I am no chef.
I can not put together ingredients and create yummy food.
I always need a recipe/instructions when cooking.
I am a foodie though!

For the remainder of my restful and detoxifying day, I sat in bed writing a Sunday post for my auntie's blog, while catching up on my blogroll and cheering on my Texas teams, both of which whooped some St. Louis tush tonight.

Shon has lived in many places in the U.S. (and he lived in Greece!), but he considers St. Louis to be his hometown, so you can probably imagine how much fun it is to talk smack to him during the World Series and when the Cowboys play the Rams. The funny thing is, I'm not a huge sports person, but since dating Shon I've gained an interest in watching sports. Not to mention it's a great way for us to chill, hang out, and bond.

To end this lovely day Shon cooked dinner! And he's doing the dishes too! So, that means mucho relaxation for this chica :)

Hope you had a wonderfully exciting, relaxing, and energizing weekend loves!
Here's to a happy Monday!

  2. Love your new blog layout! Also, those pants are completely crazy and perfect for beach yoga. I can barely balance on a flat surface, let alone sand! Crazy hard.

    Happy Monday!

  4. You are so motivated! I wish I was as good as you are when in comes to execise. I tend to postpone my workout :( And now that I live in OK, and have no car, i cannot go for walks or a run, and spend most of my time in my apartment :-/

But Yoga on the beach seems a great way of starting the day. Maybe when i go home in a few months i'll be able to try it out :)

Hope you are having a good weekend!
